ABOUT US
Formed in 2020, the New York Alliance Drumline is a percussion arts program based in NYC, with branches in Brooklyn & Queens. Our program is home to our Championship & Award Winning line that performs all over the tri-state such as, A parade on Rockaway, NY Crusader Football games, Rockefeller Center for Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace and mant . We are a program that teaches and enhances each of our student’s reading skill and develops them to be the best percussionist and student that they can be. As a family oriented program, we also strive to build character and traits like accountability and teamwork. We make sure all of our students know how to read music which is key if they decide to audition for any music schools or college band programs.

The Drumline is directed by Stephon Bridges, a teacher, HBCU Graduate, former Drum Major and percussionist for over 15 years. Our Main Instructors, Vaughn Armour & Micheal Mendoza have combined teaching experience of over 20 years and have worked in schools across the city. Our other instructors have teaching and professional experience, with 3 currently being apart of the NY Giants Professional Drumline, the G-Line.
The New York Alliance Drumline is HBCU Show-style based drumline. We make sure all of are participants learn how to read music from a beginner to expert level. Our students are prepared to perform but also for auditions, being high school, collegiate or professionally. Our program operates as a family, spreading positivity and teamwork as our core values. One of our mission is to make sure our students are the best students and people that they can be. We use words of motivation to build self esteem and use performances and other events to help boost confidence in our children.
We currently rehearse weekly, with both in person and Zoom Rehearsals. These practices mainly work towards our frequent performance schedule and improving the technique of our percussionist.
The New York Alliance Drumline has a mission and purpose to expose anyone in our community to the skills of percussion and to bring the HBCU culture to students that may not have been exposed to the worlds in which drumming can take them. We mentor our students, help them create portfolios and advise them with school work. Helping our students get Scholarships is one of our biggest initiatives.
